Raw II Okuma's new Raw-II saltwater machinery raises the bar once again, producing high quality machinery for the amateur fisherman. Thanks to Okuma's Dual Force Drag system with a rust-resistant, patented aluminum alloy and all-carbon fiber drag stack, Raw II machines take on the toughest species and tackle the toughest environmental conditions.

Conventional aluminum alloys we know rely on anodizing to protect them from the corrosive nature of salt water. On the other hand, extensive studies have been carried out in this field, as the coatings show even better resistance to salt water in the face of the weakness of the base material in the industry. Raw II machines showcase Okuma's proprietary T480 aluminum alloy. The all new, completely unique aluminum alloy anodeless T480 shows zero structural damage after 480 hours of continuous exposure to salt water, which is standard aluminum's time to permanent damage. Maximum protection with an anodized base layer, painted surface layer and Okuma Corrosion Resistant Coating process, Raw II machines have a much longer lifespan than conventional aluminum we know, offering amateur hunters an aluminum frame and an all aluminum rotor system that will last a lifetime.

Features of the RAW II machine:

• DFD: Precise Dual Force traction system

• Multi-disc, Carbon and Felt DFD

• 7 HPB + 1RB corrosion resistant steel ball bearings

• Quick-Set anti-rollback roller bearing

Features of Okuma T480 Aluminum and RAW II Machines:

At Okuma, bait machines and rods above and beyond traditional fishing gear allow many people to get to know us more with our machines than with our other products. It is our pride as a manufacturer to offer the latest features and technologies to amateur fishermen, with innovations such as Elliptical Oscillating and Dual Force Drag, in a way that is much more accessible than ever before. This is a standard unfinished machine frame that has been exposed to continuous salt water spray and air for 240 hours. Note that the white oxide component is rooting very seriously.

Aluminum machine hulls are a fact of life in saltwater fishing, such as salmon, bass and large catfish. More and more amateur fishermen are using Spectra fiber lines in these types of fishing. These fibers do not stretch like nylon monofilaments and transfer stress directly to the rod and machine instead of buffering them. Stronger and more rigid than graphite machine bodies, aluminum flexes under these loads to maintain long-term stability of internal components. The new T480 aluminum, uncoated, also bears the 240 hour mark as the forage machine frame. Isn't aluminum weak? Corrosion. Although aluminum is better than steel, it can rust and rot over time. Of course anodizing, paints and Okuma's CRC (Corrosion Resistant Coating process) can protect against corrosion with regular cleaning and maintenance. But what if you can multiply the corrosion resistance of the base materials? Aluminum is aluminum, right? Wrong. There are thousands of aluminum alloys and this number is increasing day by day. New T480, incomplete, after 20 full days, 480 hours of alternate salt spray and air testing. Shows minimal corrosion in the 2nd and 299th shots, if any. Of course on real machines this aluminum is anodized and painted for even greater protection. Okuma T480 aluminum alloy in the new Raw II reels can remove corrosion for the modern amateur angler. The T480 gets its name from a test conducted with material suppliers. This test lasts a full 480 hours. In the test, raw, uncoated T480 aluminum is exposed to alternating salt water and air for 480 hours (20 days) continuously. This process accelerates the effects of corrosion tremendously by providing the perfect environment for its formation. After a period of 480 hours, deep cavities are formed in the standard aluminum alloys we know, which may cause you to buy a new machine. The T480, on the other hand, remains completely untouched. In the real machine manufacturing process, the T480 is seldom raw. Frame parts are anodized, then painted, then passed through the Okuma CRC process (penetrating coating of Corrosion X HD). Only after that the products are assembled. And Raw-II machines appear. Raw-II machines were developed to revolutionize mid-range saltwater machines by offering the strongest and most corrosion resistant machines in their class. Raw-II's frames, side plates and rotors are all T480 aluminum, forming a full metal jacket. Competitively priced compared to machines using standard aluminum frames, graphite side plates and graphite rotors, Raw-II highlights strength and long-term durability in a saltwater environment. For absolute confidence and control when tackling the biggest fish, the Raw II uses an oversized aluminum handlebar and oversized EVA knob. With a strong base, Raw-II's drag system applies the full power of the machine to battle the biggest fish. With the first greased full Carbonite Dual Force Drag in Okuma's machines, the Raw-II effortlessly pulls an extraordinary load of 22.5 kg (50 pounds). Carbonite drag washers do not compress over time, thus ensuring a consistent drag pressure range over the life of the washers. The Raw-II machine includes sizes 30, 40, 55, 65 and 80. Seven HPB stainless steel bearings provide fluid mechanics, while Okuma High Density gearing keeps the Raw-II stable at the most extreme pressures. Sizes 30 and 40 are equipped with regular carbon fiber handle arms to minimize weight, while sizes 55, 65 and 80 feature heavy-duty aluminum plate handles. Click here to see the entire Raw II family. The full set of Raw-II machines, along with throwing, shaking and throwing live baits, appeal not only to fish and catching techniques, but also to the harsh environments where these epic battles will take place.
